This was a huge renovation project, which had to be carried out in 12 weeks start to finish, it is quirky and full of character and we love it.

In 2019 we converted  a commercial restaurant and gallery premises to create a family home backing on to the River Trent and next door to historic Newark  Castle.

The kitchen was formerly the bar area for the restaurant. To see before and after photos click here

The upstairs drawing room was formerly an art gallery

The upstairs bedrooms look at over the river and benefit from the most glorious sunsets - To see before and after photos click here

The rooms all have classical Georgian proportions, and retain the original fireplaces and features.

We turned the original catering kitchen into a utility room, and the corridor on the left was formerly the washing up area! - To see before and after photos click here

During the renovation, I visited my friends in Marrakech, and we had the washbasins and tiles hand made there.

The drawing of my daughter India shown on the left, was an A level art project - To see before and after photos click here

We tackled the garden at the same time as the house and there are inspirational photos here (before and after) with a complete transformation in a period of weeks. - To see before and after photos click here
